If you do not have work authorization, you may still be eligible to work as an independent contractor, including through micro-internships or short-term project-based work. These opportunities do not require DACA, TPS, or a work permit.

Parker Dewey is a popular platform that connects students and recent graduates with paid micro-internships. All positions on Parker Dewey are structured as independent contract work, meaning those who are selected will be hired by Parker Dewey as independent contractors.

Eligibility

To apply for micro-internships on Parker Dewey, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older

  • Be a current student or a recent graduate of a U.S.-based college or university

  • Have a valid Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN)

Note: You may already have an ITIN if your parents filed taxes and claimed you as a dependent. To find out, review past tax forms filed by your parents.

Additional Considerations

  • There is no strict graduation cutoff, but Parker Dewey is designed primarily for early-career professionals, such as current students and recent graduates.

  • Established professionals may not find as much value on the platform and are less likely to be selected unless they clearly demonstrate a career transition in their profile.
