Note that Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is not available to undocumented children.

Emergency Medical Care

Emergency Medicaid (EM) is a program that provides medical coverage for uninsured individuals who have experienced a medical emergency. It's available to people who don't qualify for Medicaid due to their immigration status.

Services: Medical care and services for serious health issues that require immediate medical attention. Conditions like heart attacks, severe pain, and labor and delivery

Presumptive Eligibility for Pregnant Women (PEPW)

Temporary, 60-day coverage for outpatient prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, allowing immediate access while a full Medicaid application is processed.

Eligibility: Pregnant, low-income individuals (income < 194% FPL) who are U.S. citizens or eligible immigrants, even if awaiting full approval. Contact a qualified provider (doctor, clinic) who can determine presumptive eligibility and start care right away.
