Note that Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is not available to undocumented children.

Emergency Medical Care

Emergency Medicaid (EM) is a program that provides medical coverage for uninsured individuals who have experienced a medical emergency. It's available to people who don't qualify for Medicaid due to their immigration status.

Services: Medical care and services for serious health issues that require immediate medical attention. Conditions like heart attacks, severe pain, and labor and delivery

CHIP

Federal CHIP funds cover the health of the unborn child and the pregnant mother, irrespective of immigration status, to ensure U.S.-citizen babies are born healthy. This also covers 12 months of postpartum care.

Health Opportunities, Planning, and Expansion (HOPE) Act

HOPE aims to create state-funded programs for low-income residents, including immigrants, though progress has been slow. Implementation depends on federal approval for matching funds or state appropriation.
